What We're Learning

What Your Child Is Learning

2s – Pre-K

Kindergarten & 1st Grade

  • Topic: Minor prophets including Micah, Zephaniah, Habakkuk, and Nahum and also King Josiah.
  • Christ Connection: God continually warned the people about their sin through these prophets, but He also reminded them of the hope that was to come, Jesus.
  • Memory Verse: “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

2nd-5th Grade

  • Topic: Our children will learn about Jesus as a boy. We’ll concentrate on growing physically, mentally, spiritually and socially.
  • Verse: “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52

6th Grade

  • Topic: Our 6th graders will learn to recognize and avoid traps of anger, pride and deceit. They will have tools from God’s Word to use when facing these traps.

Saturday

The Pender family has done an amazing job serving in the Kangaroo and Giraffe classes on Saturday nights! They are always prepared and engaged with the children. The kids light up when they enter the room as they share Jesus each week! Way to go Pender family! (Andrew, Suzy, Caroline, and Claire teach. Their youngest daughter, Maggie, is pictured also.)
