The Most Effective Method for Discipleship in the World Right Now

This is a great (and short) video message on discipleship from Jon Tyson, Lead Pastor of Trinity Grace Church in New York City.  (HT: The Verge Network)

Are we forming people into the image of our church’s culture, or into the image of Jesus?

Tyson quotes author and though-leader Neil Cole: “Ultimately each church will be evaluated by only one thing. Its disciples! Your church is only as good as its disciples. It does not matter how good your praise, preaching, programs or property are. If your disciples are passive, needy, consumerist, and not moving in the direction of radical obedience, your church is not good.”

At Fellowship, are we defined by faith, love, community, contribution and rest – or doubt, insecurity, individualism, consumerism and exhaustion?

I think this is a good question for each of us to answer for ourselves – and then let the answer guide us in what kind of disciples God is calling us to make.
