This season instead of running to our default which mainly consists of caffeine and white knuckled survival, we are attempting to “Advent.”
As we continue to think about living on mission, Heidi and I have really been challenged to connect more with our neighbors in meaningful ways. When Jesus said in Matthew 22:39 to “love your neighbor as yourself” – what if He actually meant our neighbors?
A couple weeks ago we announced a new expression of Fellowship in South Nashville. We are excited about beginning to start launching. There are a lot of good reasons to join a new congregation. There are also a few bad ones.
In less than two weeks, we have an incredible privilege to once again host our 3rd Global Summit where we’re not only flying in most of our Global Partners from around the world (Peru, South Sudan, Germany, Jordan and more), but also bringing in some pretty amazing speakers to inspire and equip us.
What are you particularly thankful for this Thanksgiving? An informal Twitter survey earlier this year revealed these simple words among America’s top 10: “Life,” “Family,” Friends,” “God,” “People,” “Love,” “Today.” There’s no question we have an enormous amount to be grateful for. But have you ever contemplated what you’re most thankful for as a leader? Here are some of mine. I hope they inspire you toward being a more thankful leader this Thanksgiving season (and this is a great time of year to express gratitude to those we lead).
One of the great things about Connections in this season is a clear purpose and a shared language for our entire church. However, some of it will be expressed differently in Franklin and eventually in Green Hills. Here, I’ll focus primarily on the Brentwood Campus, but you’ll notice at Franklin and eventually in Green Hills a shared language for connecting.
Since the earliest days of our church, Fellowship has maintained biblical community as one of our core values. And the primary way we’ve pursued community at Fellowship has been through community groups: small groups of 12-16 adults meeting in homes during the week to study and to encourage one another to mature in the faith and give our lives away.
