Acts 2:42–45 (NLT)

42All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. 43A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.

At least 20 miraculous events are recorded (those where the laws of physics and reality as we know it are suspended) in the book of Acts –  Jesus’ ascension into the clouds, the death of Ananias and Saphira, Philip transported to the desert.

Yet I wonder if the greatest miracles are not the ones wrought in the hearts of those earliest believers and how their transformed hearts radically changed their behavior. From the passage above, it is clear that their view of their possessions and finances, “all that they had,” was turned upside down (perhaps right side up?).

God is still doing this work in the hearts of his children. As you watch this video – pay attention to what the story stirs in your own heart. We’ll talk about that tomorrow…
