Pilot Ideas

Three Types of Groups
There are three types of groups that are being offered as we step into a new season of change at Fellowship:

  • Bible Studies
  • Care and Connection Groups
  • Pilot Ideas

The first two group types are pretty self-explanatory. If you would prefer to gather with a group of people to study the Bible, you’d probably be inclined to choose a Bible Study. If you’d prefer to focus more purposefully on the interpersonal relationships in the group, you’d probably choose a Care and Connection Group. The beauty is… You can choose to lead whatever type of group best fits you.

Pilot Ideas
“Pilot Ideas” is a kind of catch-all category exploring new ideas and forms of community that might not look like a traditional community group, but certainly help people follow Jesus and make disciples. The reason we’re using the word “pilot” is because we’re giving people the freedom to try out a new idea and see if it works in the context of community and discipleship.

Outward Focus
In recent months, I’ve had a number of conversations with people who really want to focus more outwardly in their community. Their heart beats a little faster when they think about how they might be able to make a difference in their neighborhood and beyond with the love and hope of Christ. If that’s you, let’s talk. There are so many possibilities to explore for those who might like to live life in community with other believers, centered on the Gospel, with more of an outward focus.

Right now, Heidi and I are talking to others in our Nolensville neighborhood about putting together a “pilot group” that would do life together – and look to find ways that we can be a blessing in our community. We really want to live out the gospel right where we are.

Let’s Get Together
If you’re interested in talking more about one of these “Pilot Ideas”, or just have questions, I’d love to take the next step with you. Please email me at or call my cell – 615-300-0346. I’d love to grab coffee or lunch to pray and explore.
