Meet Brandon Addison, Green Hills & Inversion Pastor

Name: Brandon Addison

Title: Green Hills & Inversion Pastor

Description of Role:
I help people love God, the church, and our city by planting a new Fellowship congregation in the south (Green Hills “ish”) area of Nashville and teaching sharp young professionals who desire to mature in the faith and give their lives away.

Start date: April 2014

Where were you and what you were doing prior to Fellowship?
I was a church planter headed to Boulder, Co through Fellowship Associates and Redeemer City to City and prior to that, a teaching/young adult pastor at a local church in the Nashville area.

Family:
Amy, my lovely spouse
Aidan –  4 years
“Baby” Addison (arriving April 2015 – Currently taking name recommendations and endorsement deals)

Education:

  • Masters of Divinity, Kern Scholar and Francis Schaeffer Fellow, Covenant Theological Seminary, 2010
  • Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs, The University of Georgia, 2005
  • Bachelor of Science in Psychology, The University of Georgia, 2005

Hobbies:
I am a self-professed “recovering experience junkie” whose past life includes being a former professional whitewater river and backpacking guide and certified alligator wrestler. I love drinking good coffee, eating at local, up and coming, restaurants; going to used book stores, and getting outside; primarily hiking, rafting, and running. I’m currently wading into fly-fishing.

Favorite sports teams:
Georgia Bulldogs, New Orleans Saints (I have Cajun roots), St. Louis Cardinals (We lived there!)

Favorite Musician:
Counting Crows

If you had two weeks to get away and money wasn’t an option, where would you want to be?
I’d buy a raft and take a team of friends to raft down the Grand Canyon or I would head to Alaska to hike/sea kayak in Denali.

Ask me about?
My son’s love obsession with super heroes; Our family’s college football rivalry; Faith, work, + culture; The changing landscape of Nashville; Our favorite new restaurants and happenings in the city.

What do you love about Nashville?
We love: The feel of downtown Franklin; The hipster/urban edge of 12 South and The Gulch; The cultural beauty in Vanderbilt, Green Hills, and Hillsboro Village; The craftsmen homes in East Nashville and the glimpses of rolling hills and wide open space in between.

We love: Going to the Cumberland Waterpark on a sunny afternoon; Zipping off to the Frist Center; eating at Frothy on a lazy Saturday morning; Spending a date night at the Patterson House; Catching our favorite artist at The Well, The Bluebird, Music City Roots or the Ryman.

We love food. More specifically – The Southern, Whisky Kitchen, The Pharmacy, Etch, Germantown Cafe, and The Smiling Elephant among a ton of others.
