Rob Sweet was born and raised in a strong Christian home where he often heard his family talk about Jesus. Rob decided to put his faith in Christ one night after his mom explained that God could forgive his sins and come into his life because of Jesus’ death and resurrection. They prayed together and celebrated Rob’s decision. Later in high school, Rob truly began to own his faith. He was discipled by a college student who worked with his youth group. Through this mentor, Rob learned to journal his prayers to God and this began to revolutionize his Christian walk. During this season, Rob began to develop a love for the Bible and God planted the seeds that would later grow into a desire to pursue full-time ministry.
Now the Lead Pastor here at Fellowship Bible Church, Rob has served in leadership and teaching roles in ministry and corporate settings for 15 years. Previous pastoral roles include positions at Grace Fellowship Church in Johnson City, TN and McKinney Church in Fort Worth, TX. Before entering vocational ministry, Rob worked at Chick-fil-A, Inc. as a Business Consultant and Leadership Trainer. Rob holds a Bachelor’s Degree and MBA from the University of Georgia (UGA), and a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. Rob is a passionate teacher with a relational style and has a heart for the intersection of theology and everyday life.
Rob met his wife, Jodie, while studying at UGA and they married in 2001. The Sweets live in Franklin with their three daughters – Ansley (13), Elysa (10), and Karis (7).
