Advent 2020: The Promise
What's this series about?
In the beginning of Matthew's gospel account (Matthew 1:1-16), he lists 3 sets of 14 generations. Each of the names represents a real person—a story that God used to provide, protect, and direct the course of redemptive history in such a way that the lineage leading to Jesus continued. This is a profound reminder that even in the midst of these—yes, these—uncertain days, God keeps His promises. As the angels sing in Luke's account of the birth of Jesus:
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
