Following the Servant King

How about meeting as a church surrounded by bones and dead bodies? That’s probably where many Christians in Rome were meeting when Mark’s gospel was first unrolled and read. In the midst of severe persecution, it was one of the few safe places they could secretly gather. In this darkness, Mark’s account of Jesus’ life grounded them in the identity of their Savior and His mission, a mission which became their own. We trust our study will do the same for us.
