Susan was born and raised in Dexter, Michigan—a small town outside of Ann Arbor. Susan trusted Christ as a child and experienced significant growth in her personal relationship with Jesus in high school, largely through the impact of Young Life.
Susan moved to Nashville in 2004 to attend Belmont University, where she met her husband, Ryan. Susan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Voice, with a focus in Composition and Arranging. She also gained certification to teach K-12 general and vocal music through graduate study at Belmont. Susan’s professional experience spans arts education, non-profit, business, and ministry.
Susan serves on the Leadership Team at Fellowship as Project Manager of Executive Initiatives. Her role includes driving a variety of projects and processes that clear the way for staff leaders and teams to stay connected and in unified pursuit of Fellowship’s mission. She also provides leadership for Fellowship’s Front Desk team. Passionate about healthy team culture, with a drive for strategic forward motion, Susan is grateful to get to apply her experience, wiring and passions to build up the local church.
Susan and Ryan, married in 2008 and live in Brentwood. They have been attending Fellowship since the Spring of 2008 and serve together with Worship & Arts, Broadcast Video, and the Marriage Mentor Team. Susan continues to stay involved in music through songwriting, and leading worship.
